It is time for the 27th annual Adam Geiger Fishing Experience (AGFE). The AGFE is a recreational fishing opportunity on the Missouri River with professional and amateur anglers, followed by a fish fry and the inevitable fish story. If you are not familiar with our organization let me, tell you a little bit about it. Sporting Chance is a nonprofit organization started in 1996 providing outdoor opportunities for physically and intellectually challenged adults and children. Through its members and volunteers, we have been able to bring a “Sporting Chance” to many individuals who otherwise would not have the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors. We provide them alternative means to hook the big one, bag a trophy deer, call in a wild turkey, bag a pheasant, swish the snow-capped slopes, ride the waves on Nelson Lake, or just go for a pontoon ride and enjoy the great outdoors. Attached you will find a flier describing the Spring Fishing Event as well as registration and release forms. This year our event will be held at Graner Bottoms (directions provided on flier) on June 3rd from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The day will be full of fun for everyone. ⦁ 8:00 to 8:30 – Registration ⦁ 8:30 to 9:00 – load and launch boats ⦁ 9:00 to noon – Land a whopper (go fish) ⦁ Noon to 2:00 – fish fry and brat feed Sporting Chance will provide rods, tackle, bait, and life jackets for the participants and with your help a good time. All you need to bring is a smile and the willingness to have some fun in the great outdoors. Only in ND can a person experience all four seasons in one day, so I would like to remind everyone to please dress in layers and bring a hat to keep the sun out of your eyes. All participants are required to have a caregiver present throughout the event to help attend to their needs. Pre-registration is not required but encouraged to allow everyone their sporting chance on the water. Please complete the registration and release forms and email (NDKaspers@Bis.Midco.net) or snail me using the contact information below by the 31st of May. If you have any questions regarding this event or other Sporting Chance activities please contact me, at NDKaspers@bis.Midco.Net or drop me a line at 701-226-6578.
