Showing off a deer from the hunt!
Sporting Chance was started in 1995. We are registered as a North Dakota volunteer based non-profit charitable organization. Our objective is to provide outdoor recreational activities for people with disabilities. We accept the challenge to take individuals, with a disability, into the field for an opportunity that they would not otherwise have.

President: Bryan Haag

Hello,
My name is Bryan Haag I am currently the president of Sporting Chance.
My family consists of my wife Denice, son Matt and four dogs.
I work at the Tesoro Refinery in Mandan. I started out working with the group volunteering with the bow hunting that takes place on the Tesoro property "North Forty",
I am an avid hunter and fishermen. However, in December of 2005 I ended up seriously hurt in an accident that left me unable to hunt and fish the way I normally did. This was a big wakeup call for me. I am one of the lucky ones who can pretty much do everything the way that I did in the past with few adaptations. The realality of not being able to do this opened my eyes to what goes on with the Sporting Chance organization, I just love seeing the smiles and tears on the faces of the people we help with their "sporting chance".

Director: Stan Thompson

I became involved with Sporting Chance a few years ago to get my son active in what Sporting Chance has to offer. I have been on the board for two years and have helped with almost all events that Sporting chance holds. I am married to Deb and have two sons Matthew (19) and Alex (15), we also have two cats Big Jake and Joe Friday. Sporting Chance is a great group to work with and has given me the opportunity to meet some great individuals and help them with hunting , fishing and many other activities that they would not normally be able to participate in on their own. Things that I enjoy doing when I am not working are spending time with my family, racing, working on cars.

Dan Avard
Director: Dan Avard

I got involved with Sporting Chance after a car accident in which I was paralyzed. It helped me enjoy the things that I did before my accident and things that I never did before. I have two kids Kaitlyn and Brenden. I enjoy hunting, fishing, water and snow skiing. The thing I enjoy the most about Sporting Chance is helping others to enjoy what I have enjoyed through Sporting Chance.
